RORY McILROY reunited with two young superfans at The WGC-Mexico Championship after they’d been left in tears at last year’s event.
They looked to be in much better spirits this time as they got to hang out with their hero on the course.
McIlroy first met Eduardo and Héctor at last year’s tournament when it was brought to his attention that they were very upset after he finished as runner up to Dustin Johnson.
He comforted both kids as he reassured them saying ‘it was still a good week!’
This time around thankfully it was all smiles despite McIlroy again having a very good but not great tournament as he ended up in fifth place.
The two boys got to spend some time on the course with the Holywood native as they helped him seize up the greens during practice rounds as well as walk the fairways with him.
CATCHING UP
McIlroy enjoyed their company as much as they enjoyed his as he reflected on what a lovely reunion it was after the tournament.
He wrote: “Great spending some time with my friends Eduardo and Héctor last week in Mexico.
“Ready for a week off to prepare for The Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship.”
RIGHT AT HOME
Eduardo and Héctor looked right at home on the course with McIlroy as they had the best view to take in all of the action.
Last year they were seen looking very deflated as McIlroy couldn’t keep pace with Dustin Johnson.

McIlroy did his best to console the boys at the time.
While he wasn’t quite able to provide the storybook ending and have them witness him win it this time, his excellent form continues as major season draws nearer.
